CompTia A+ Advanced Computing

The A+ Advanced Computing program is 14 weeks and offers advanced troubleshooting, instruction on how to configure operating systems such as Windows, IOS, and Android, how to implement basic data backup and recovery methods, and security maintenance. Participants take a national certification exam that is recognized nationally by companies looking for systems administrator level IT support.

CompTia IT Fundamentals

IT Fundamentals is a 7 week certification program that teaches software installation, basic network connectivity, how to identify basic security breaches, and how to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on computers.  A national certification exam is given at the end of the program and qualifies a person to perform  basic help desk support.

Microsoft Outlook

MBDC is highly invested in corporate training for local businesses and non-profits. Microsoft Outlook offers working adults the opportunity to dig deeper into these applications and utilize the functionality that will immediately improve their communication, collaboration, meeting productivity and job performance. This corporate training program is available day or evening for the working adult or business owner.

Google Workspace

Google Workspace

MBDC offers a short 2-hour session on Google Workspace for adults looking for a quick informational on the capabilities available from Google. Participants will learn the basics of Gmail, Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Photos, and Slides. Participants are welcome to bring their own laptop or Ipad and work along with the instructor. This course is available for working adults and also the AARP Digital Skills Ready @50+ program.

Google Workspace Tools

This program is a 6-session opportunity to dig deeper into the functionality of Google Workspace by providing a focused 2-hour session on each Google app. Participants will have hands on experience and learn the basics of Gmail, Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Photos, and Slides. Desktop computers and laptops are provided for course instruction, however participants are welcome to bring their own laptop or Ipad. This course is available for working adults and also the AARP Digital Skills Ready @50+ program.

AARP Digital Skills Ready @50+

Computer Essentials

Computer Essentials was the first class offered in Fall 2022 from the grant and training provided by Google/AARP. This class is part of the AARP Digital Skills Ready 50+ that provides a slower-paced teaching approach to meet the learning needs of older adults. The five-week Computer Essentials class teaches the basics of computer hardware and software, keyboard and mouse usage, Windows, Google, and Microsoft Word and how to set up and send an email. The class is offered on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:00pm – 3:00pm to meet the scheduling needs of older adults. Even though formatted for older adults, this program is open to all adults.
